Autumn is coming
As I’ve already said, autumn is coming! And we know what it means. A lot of season vegetables, preparing for the winter, and of course, a lot of grapes. Doesn’t mind if you prefer white over red, very soon many of them will be turned into a good, but still young, wine.
It is rather unusual. Wine is probably the only thing that truly becomes better with the age. But, I still prefer the youngest version of wine, which means fresh grapes. I don’t like wine. Sometimes I think it’s a very wrong way to use something as tasty as grapes. Fresh grapes are full of vitamins, and you wont lose your mind if you eat it too much. But, who asks me…? I must say, grapes are one of the fruits I’d like to see in my fruit salad when I order it in a cafe. Unfortunately, usually it’s not there. That’s why I’m always nervous when there is not a description of a fruit salad i n a restaurant menu.
Thank God the grapes is in a fine shape right now, otherwise I’d be just like a fox with the grapes from the story. It’s not green, it’s perfect, and it’s a season for all of us to enjoy it.
Summer wine
“Strawberries cherries and an angel’s kiss in spring
My summer wine is really made from all these things…”
There are several singers who used this lyrics for their songs. I must say, I don’t know how can anyone drink wine and some other stronger alcoholic drinks during the summer, I mean, those drinks activate some sort of fire within you, and it’s already pretty much warm outside. Beer is ok, for it’s refreshing, especially cold, but this… Well, we all have our own taste, after all.
I can’t say that I’m some wine expert, so I have found a list of 25 best wines for summer recommended from someone who actually knows something about it. The whole list you can see at /articles/25-best-wines-for-summer. Some of those wines are recommended for addition to your dish, and some others you can find in your restaurant menu, to refresh you while are waiting for a meal.
Also, I could use this opportunity to represent you yet another restaurant application, called FOOD & WINE Cocktails. What does this app do? It offers recipes for more than 350 outstanding drinks by America’s best mixologists, plus great party food, essential cocktail-making tips, a comprehensive spirits guide and a definitive listing of America’s top 100 bars and lounges. What I can say with only one look at it is that it’s nicely designed, very compatible, and I’m also very glad that it has a warning that only those above 17 years are allowed to download it.
Well, I hope I helped you with your wine selection, but still, I think it would be a lot better to wait for autumn or at least the end of the summer to consume alcoholic beverages. I don’t want to implicit the disaster of the wine sellers, but I’m not sure how healthy it is to be consumed in this weather condition. At this time I think it’s a lot better to simply consume water and juices(but only natural ones), for they can refresh you a lot better.
Fine wine
Whenever you’re in a restaurant, there is something that you choose, besides the meal. It’s the beverage. There are alcoholic drinks, coffee, juice, mineral water… What we’re very interested in is a wine list.
For each meal there is a wine that goes specially well with it. To be honest, I don’t drink wine, and I’m far from being an expert at it. All I know is this “the older-the better” rule is on. But, there are also some other important things. Only an expert knows what is the best grapes for the wine, what are the best techniques for making it without using a non-natural ways. There is a restaurant menu application specially created for wine lists. It’s the iRiS Sommelier. Offering a fabulous platform for presentation, this engages diners by providing relevant information and fantastic visuals. The result, an improved experience and increased sales. Diners can select by category, such as the region, colour or grape, or simply be guided by the Sommelier recommendations section.
